Permission for Absence from Lectures or Practicum
1. General Provisions (Applicable to All Students)
Students who are unable to attend lectures or practicum sessions due to specific reasons (e.g., illness, competition participation, official university events, etc.) are required to report their absence by submitting valid supporting documentation.
Format of Supporting Documents
There are two types of documents, depending on the nature of the missed academic activity:
- Permission for Absence from Class

All absence requests must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to: Course Instructor – ITB (Dosen Mata Kuliah ITB)
- The envelope must contain valid supporting documents, such as:

Medical Certificate

Official Assignment or Competition Letter

Other relevant documentation

- Please include the following information clearly on the envelope:

Instructor’s Name

- Permission for Absence from Practicum

All practicum absence requests must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to: Laboratory of the Course – ITB
- The envelope must contain valid supporting documents, such as:

Official Assignment or Competition Letter

Other relevant documentation

2. Specific Procedures Based on Student Type
- First-Year Students, If you are unable to attend lectures (see point 1.a) or laboratory/practical sessions (see point 1.b), please follow the steps below:
- Make copies of supporting documents equivalent to the number of classes you will miss.
- Submit the absence letter through one of the following channels:

A classmate or class representative, or
-
Directly to the course instructor via Microsoft Teams or another official communication platform.

- Once you have recovered and resumed academic activities, you are required to submit the original documents as official proof of absence. This can be done through one of the following methods:
- Offline

- For Repeating Students (Retaking Courses):
If you are unable to attend lectures (see point 1.a) or practical/laboratory sessions (see point 1.b), please follow the steps below:- The reporting procedure remains the same: students are required to attach a supporting letter/document and prepare copies equal to the number of class groups or sessions affected.
- Submit the absence letter through one of the following channels:

A classmate or class representative, or

Directly to the course instructor via Microsoft Teams or another official communication platform.

- Submission of Absence Letters Based on Course Type:
- For Program-Specific Courses (MK Prodi):
Absence letters must be submitted to the Academic Secretary of the respective Study Program. - For General Courses TPB dan MKU (MK TPB):
- Submit directly to:
DITSAMA Secretariat, ITB Jatinangor Campus – GKU 3 Building, 1st Floor - Once you have recovered and resumed academic activities, you are required to submit the original documents as official proof of absence. This can be done through one of the following methods:

To check your class number, please refer to your Student Study Card (KSM) via https://akademik.itb.ac.id.

Official competition leave letters must be issued by the ITB Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa).

Uploading medical certificates from Halodoc or similar online medical services is not permitted.

Students may submit absence requests either online or offline, but must ensure that the course instructor has been properly informed.
