Program for Mapping and Enhancement of Academic Readiness 2025
DEFINITION
Academic readiness mapping is an activity provided for new undergraduate students of ITB Class of 2025. This activity aims to assess the students’ fundamental competencies in several basic courses. The mapping is conducted prior to the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.
OBJECTIVES
The academic readiness mapping is intended to:
- Provide a general overview of students’ fundamental knowledge and understanding of basic courses, which can serve as a reference for designing learning strategies at the beginning of the academic term.
- Supply initial data to prepare additional learning support, such as the Student Center for Learning (SCL), for students who may need it.
This mapping is not a selection process or an exam intended to filter students. Students are expected to participate in this activity honestly and independently so that the results accurately reflect their actual abilities. Students who receive unsatisfactory results will be provided with additional learning support to help them effectively engage in the Joint Preparatory Stage learning process.
GUIDELINES
The Academic Readiness Mapping (PKA*) is an initial academic activity designed to assess the learning readiness of new students before the start of classes. PKA is not an exam or selection test, but rather a diagnostic tool to help develop effective teaching and mentoring strategies for the regular semester.
The following are the implementation guidelines for PKA 2025:
- PKA Participants, all new students are required to take the PKA in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, except:
- FSRD students are exempt from PKA in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- SBM students are exempt from PKA in Physics and Chemistry.
- Stages and Requirements for PKA in Mathematics
- Students who do not meet the minimum score in Stage 1 must proceed to Stage 2.
- Students who pass Stage 1 are exempt from Stage 2.
- Students who do not meet the minimum score in Stage 2 must proceed to Stage 3.
- Students who pass Stage 2 are exempt from Stage 3.
- Students who do not meet the minimum score in Stage 3 are required to join the Mathematics Academic Readiness Enhancement Program (PMSAM*).
- Students who pass Stage 3 are exempt from participating in PMSAM.
- Implementation of PKA in Physics and Chemistry
- All students (except those from FSRD and SBM) must take the Physics and Chemistry PKA as scheduled.
- Students who do not meet the minimum score in PKA in Physics and/or Chemistry, along with those who are evaluated to need support after the Mathematics PMSAM program, are required to participate in the SCL program during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Please follow all stages in accordance with the official schedule and instructions provided through the communication channels of the Directorate of Preparatory and Common Core Program.
