ACADEMIC READINESS MAPPING 2026
DEFINITION
Academic Readiness Mapping is an activity provided for new undergraduate students of ITB Class of 2026. This activity aims to assess the students’ fundamental competencies in several basic courses. The mapping is conducted prior to the start of the 2026/2027 academic year.
OBJECTIVES
The academic readiness mapping is intended to:
- Provide a general overview of students’ fundamental knowledge and understanding of basic courses, which can serve as a reference for designing learning strategies at the beginning of the academic term.
- Supply initial data to prepare additional learning support, such as the Student Center for Learning (SCL), for students who may need it.
This mapping is not a selection process or an exam intended to filter students. Students are expected to participate in this activity honestly and independently so that the results accurately reflect their actual abilities.
GUIDELINES
The Academic Readiness Mapping (PKA*) is an initial academic activity designed to assess the learning readiness of new students before the start of classes. PKA is not an exam or selection test, but rather a diagnostic tool to help develop effective teaching and mentoring strategies for the regular semester.
The following are the implementation guidelines for PKA 2026:
- PKA Participants: all new students are required to take the PKA in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, except FSRD and SBM students are exempt from taking the PKA in Physics and Chemistry.
- Implementation of PKA in Physics and Chemistry
- All students (except those from FSRD and SBM) are required to take the PKA in Physics and Chemistry according to the scheduled timetable.
- Students who do not meet the minimum score in any one of the PKA in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be required to participate to the SCL program in the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Please follow all stages in accordance with the official schedule and instructions provided through the communication channels of the Directorate of Preparatory and Common Core Program.
